The Autumn season of Night Tennis at Littlehampton is underway.

If you would like to be a part of the Winter 2013/14 Night Tennis Competition with Littlehampton Tennis Club (starts July), please complete and submit the following rego form.

Join in the AO Blitz celebrations at Macclesfield Tennis Club who were announced the national winners in the inaugural AO Blitz after aligning with Australian Open champions Stanislas Wawrinka.

Featuring special guest John Fitzgerald, Former Davis Cup Captain and World Number 1 Doubles Player who will share with you some great tennis stories, past and present.

Your ticket includes a delicious gourmet BBQ dinner under the event marquee at Macclesfield Tennis Club, with the opportunity to mix and mingle with the sports community.

Including door prizes, live band, fundraising auction, giveaways and loads of activities for the kids – it’s an action packed night you won’t want to miss!

All AO Blitz event proceeds will benefit the development of a new Macclesfield Tennis and Netball clubhouse.

We are looking for someone to take on coordinating the Bunnings BBQ for our club. This is not a huge job – we only do 1 or 2 of these per year. The idea here is to try and take some of the workload of the “usual suspects” that do so much for our club and to try to avoid them getting burnt out.

Here’s roughly what’s involved – we can give you more detail later if you think you might be the person for the job:

• Liase with Bunnings to choose dates for the year – let LTC committee know dates
• Order snags, bread. Organise sauce, utensils etc.
• Collect all food/drink/utensil items on the day and deliver to the BBQ
• Return all food/drink/utensils at the end of the day

Doesn’t sound like much does it? If you are a senior Saturday player, it would certainly qualify for working off your levy. If we can farm out some of these smaller jobs, the current committee will last A LOT longer – every little bit helps. So – how about it?? Do your bit for the club and put your hand up.

Do you want to be at LTC’s Quiz Night? Well do ya, punk? Do ya? Do ya? There’s not much to know, but here are the basics:

• February 22nd, 2014
• Anembo Park Clubrooms (expertly decorated by the President)
• Doors open at 7pm for a 7:30pm start
• BYO Drinks & Nibbles
• Bring lots of coinage for some side games
• Best-dressed table wins a prize
• Book single seats or register as a group (of up to 10)

Just a reminder to everyone about the HTA Hot Weather Policy – if the forecast from the Bureau of Meteorology (on Friday night TV weather reports) is 36 or higher for Mt Barker, there will be no Senior or Junior tennis on Saturday. Go to the beach or hit the pool instead.

The Gawler Tennis Club have their tennis tournament held over the March Long Weekend (8-10 March 2014) at our courts at Essex Park on Victoria Terrace in Gawler.

This year we are introducing events that are sanctioned by Tennis Seniors Australia, which means National ranking points will be awarded for a number of seniors events. There are also many other events for a range of different players.

The Australian Open Trophies are currently touring Australia and are coming to Littlehampton on Friday 8th November from 3.30pm to 7.30pm. Along with the trophies, there will be appearances by Alicia Molik and Spongebob Square Pants. There will be free Cardio tennis sessions and free Hot Shots sessions. Come and try your hand at the speed serve – see how fast (or slow) you can serve or have a bounce in the bouncy castle, have your face painted, groove to the DJ whilst enjoying a BBQ, with a glass of wine or beer or munch on a donut and coffee or just bring your sneakers and racquet and have a hit. This year we are holding a senior rego night on the 29th of August at 7:00pm at Anembo. This is a chance to come out have a hit, have a sausage and can you also pay your subs or order a club shirt if you want. It will also be your last chance to register to play.
